Santa Fe, NM – On Friday, August 15, 2025, Bobby Beals Presents will open “Through”, a solo exhibition by sculptor and designer Jeddadiah Emanuel, at The Horseshoe Gallery inside Bishop’s Lodge. The event invites visitors to experience a series of hand-carved works created from basswood and walnut and finished with India ink, gesso and luminous 24-karat gold leaf. Each piece is framed in walnut and suggests gold shining through the cracks in a desert landscape, echoing themes of resilience and soul retrieval.
Emanuel’s practice is rooted in his lifelong connection to the natural world. Born in Utah, he spent his early years exploring mountains, orchards and streams—a formative immersion that shaped his sense of self and his art. After studying digital media and working in set design, he returned to woodworking in the Sonoran Desert, focusing on the fundamentals of carving and craftsmanship. Now based in Santa Fe’s foothills, he creates works that merge the technical and the organic, reflecting his evolving vision of growth and connection. Emanuel’s basswood sculptures are carved into simple, abstract forms and stained with India inks; streaks of 24-karat gold leaf and polished walnut frames suggest light radiating through the fractures of the desert.
The new works in “Through” evoke the idea of soul retrieval and resilience, encouraging viewers to find beauty and healing in the fractures of their own stories. The exhibition is curated by Bobby Beals, founder and creative director of Bobby Beals Presents.
Beals launched his own artist consulting agency in his early twenties and went on to operate a fine art gallery on Canyon Road before establishing the Horseshoe Gallery at Bishop’s Lodge. He co-owns Beals & Leonard Consulting with art consultant Jess Leonard and has been featured in the Santa Fean Magazine’s People We Love, while the Santa Fe Reporter voted him Curator of the Year. At Bishop’s Lodge, Beals curates the Horseshoe Gallery—an intimate space filled with paintings, sculptures and mixed-media works by fifteen hand-picked artists. A Santa Fe–born artist and veteran of the Canyon Road scene, he aims to inspire guests by blending art, history and hands-on experiences.
Visitors to “Through” will be welcomed into the gallery’s warm, contemporary setting. The opening reception will include an opportunity to meet the artist and curator, enjoy light refreshments and explore the historic grounds of Bishop’s Lodge.
